About RCCS
Founded in 2001, the Romanian Community Center of Sacramento (RCCS) is a nonprofit cultural organization dedicated to preserving Romanian heritage, strengthening community connections, and sharing Romanian culture with the broader Northern California community.

Through cultural celebrations, arts and educational programs, civic engagement, and community partnerships, RCCS creates opportunities for people of all generations to connect with Romanian culture and with one another.
Preserving Culture
Our Mission
Our mission is to preserve Romanian culture, strengthen community connections, and create opportunities for current and future generations to experience, participate in, and carry forward Romanian heritage.
We sustain Romanian traditions, language, arts, and heritage through cultural programs, education, and public celebration.

We create spaces for people to connect, participate, build relationships, and support a strong Romanian-American community.
Connecting Generations
We bring generations together so Romanian culture is not only remembered, but practiced, shared, and carried forward.

RCCS turns its mission into action through recurring programs, public events, and partnerships that bring Romanian culture and community life into shared spaces.

Our work spans cultural celebrations and community events; arts, heritage, and cultural education; youth and family engagement; recreation and social connection; community partnerships and civic engagement; and the continued development of RCCS as a lasting cultural institution.
Our Story
RCCS was founded in 2001 by members of the Sacramento-area Romanian community who saw the need for an organization that could preserve cultural identity, connect a growing Romanian-American population, and create a stronger community presence in Northern California.

Over more than two decades, RCCS has brought people together through cultural celebrations, educational activities, community initiatives, partnerships, and the Romanian Festival, today one of the organization’s most visible expressions of Romanian culture and community.

As RCCS enters its next chapter, the organization is building on that volunteer-led legacy while developing stronger programs, partnerships, and systems to serve future generations.
